Vics' in cerca di una nuova casa...

Piove sul bagnato in casa del Northwich Victoria, dopo la decisione della Football Association di penalizzare i biancoverdi di 9 punti in classifica, per l'utilizzo di un calciatore non registrato in gare di campionato disputate nel mese di Settembre 2015, con un comunicato ufficiale apparso sul sito, il Witton Albion FC ha deciso di non rinnovare l'accordo di ground-sharing con i cugini di Northwich per la stagione 2016/17. Le partite restanti della stagione 2015/16 verranno regolarmente disputate al Net Dec Stadium (Wincham Park) come da termini contrattuali.

I Vics' avranno ora solo tre settimane di tempo per trovare una nuova casa, scade infatti il 31 Marzo il termine ultimo per l'iscrizione al campionato per la stagione successiva. I biancoverdi hanno giocato a Wincham Park una sola stagione, dopo le avventure al Marston Road (casa dello Stafford Rangers FC) ed al Valley Road (casa del Flixton FC), in seguito alla chiusura del Victoria Stadium nel 2012.

Un'altra brutta tegola per i Green and Whites, che dopo una stagione esaltante stanno vivendo un momento molto delicato, iniziato con il cambio della guida tecnica, proseguito con la penalizzazione ed ora alla ricerca di nuova casa...

Witton Albion FC has today announced that the ground sharing agreement with Northwich Victoria FC is not being renewed for season 2016/17. Matches will continue to be played at the NetDec stadium for the rest of the 2015/16 season subject to all contract terms being met.

The club will not be making any further comment at this time".

Vics' penalizzati di 9 punti in classifica

Il Northwich Victoria Football Club può confermare che in un'udienza d'appello tenutasi a Manchester il 2 marzo 2016, la Football Association ha deciso di decurtare il Club di 9 punti nella classifica attuale della NPL Division One North. Ciò si riferisce alla messa in campo del portiere Mason Springthorpe in quattro partite di campionato nel mese di settembre 2015, mentre non era ancora eleggibile per mancata registrazione. In queste quattro partite sono arrivate tre vittorie, da qui la decisione di penalizzare il club, prorpio dei punti conquistati in queste gare.

Club Statement - NLP Headline

Northwich Victoria F.C can confirm that at an F.A Appeal Hearing in Manchester last week the club was deducted nine points from its current League total. This relates to the fielding of goal-keeper Mason Springthorpe whilst ineligible in four league games in September, 2015. The Club are disappointed that this matter was leaked to the NLP by a third party when the F.A had not yet made an official announcement.

Earlier this season the Club was charged by the F.A in respect of a breach of F.A Cup Rules regarding the eligibility of the same player. Following that hearing the club were allowed to continue its participation in the F.A Cup competition because the F.A exercised its discretion when dealing with this matter and recognised that the circumstances of this particular case were worthy of such discretion being applied. 

The League disciplinary proceedings are a follow on from the F.A proceedings meaning the club have received two sets of penalties for the same players ineligibility.

On 2 November, 2015 the League issued disciplinary proceedings arising out of the very same circumstances for breaching League Rules. The circumstances were that the player's registration had been accepted and registered by the League but there was no trace of the registration documents at the F.A. There is no evidence that the documents were not sent to the F.A. The only certainty is that the players registration was not inputted into the computerised registration system held at the F.A.  Consequently a technical breach of the rules was committed because the F.A had not approved the registration. It should be added that the matter only came to light as a result of the club being responsible for raising issues concerning the players registration with the F.A. 

On 9 December, 2015 a disciplinary hearing was held by the League. The Club immediately admitted the breach of the rules. Following that hearing the League deducted the nine points won in the four League games that the player had participated and issued a suspended small financial penalty. In that hearing the Club submitted that under the League Rules this was a "Player Status" issue and as such discretion could be applied in the determination of penalty and specifically relating to the deduction of points. The League ruled that this was NOT a "Player Status" issue.

On 2 March, 2016 the Appeal Hearing was held in Manchester. The Club appealed against the penalty being excessive and that the League could have applied discretion in regards to points deduction because it was a "Player Status" issue. The F.A Appeal Board agreed with the Club and upheld the appeal stating that the League misdirected itself over the issue of Player Status and should have considered the discretion allowed under the Rules.

Having considered the matter further though the F.A considered that the penalty should be the deduction of nine points and a small financial penalty. 

The Club considers the finding in its favour but then to issue a similar penalty as irrational in the circumstances particularly as on the same day as the original League disciplinary hearing the Evo-Stik League issued a suspended points deduction against another club. Furthermore the irrationality of the decision is further compounded by the fact that one other F.A panel had seen fit to allow discretion in the F.A Cup competition despite the circumstances of the ineligibility of the player being the same.

The Club now intends to proceed to Arbitration under F.A Rule K to seek to overturn the decision to deduct points and due to the length of time that such proceedings can take this may unfortunately have an adverse effect on the seasons completion but the Club considers it has to pursue this matter.

The Club can assure its players, coaching staff and supporters that they will fight what they perceive as an injustice and will be making no further comment in respect of this matter until the completion of the arbitration process.

Strepitosa vittoria dei Vics' nel big match di giornata della NPL Division One North. Il Northwich Victoria si impone per 3-2 contro la capolista Warrington Town, conquistando tre punti fondamentali per la corsa alla promozione diretta, riducendo la distanza in classifica a 10 lunghezze, con tre turni ancora da recuperare.

Dopo che la prima frazione di gioco si è conclusa a reti inviolate, gli ospiti si sono resi pericolosi ad inizio ripresa andando subito in vantaggio con il possente difensore centrale Dan Ventre, che al 47' è stato lesto a ribadire in rete, con un preciso tiro dal limite, una corta respinta della difesa biancoverde. I Vics' non hanno accusato il colpo, e quattro minuti più tardi hanno imbastito una pronta reazione, che ha portato al pareggio il centrocampista Jimmy Ball, liberato al tiro da una meravigliosa incursione in avanti del debuttante difensore Matty Regan, che ha scartato ben tre avversari prima di servire l'accorrente Ball. Al 74', al terzo tentativo, il capocannoniere biancoverde Richie Bennett ha portato, per la prima volta nel match, i Vics' in vantaggio, deviando in porta un perfetto cross dalla sinistra di Iain Howard e siglando il suo 21esimo gol stagionale. Questa volta volta il portiere ospite Karl Wills, nulla ha potuto dopo che per ben due volte aveva miracolosamente salvato i suoi dallo svantaggio. Sfruttando una rara sortita in attacco gli Yellows hanno pareggiato il conto all'82' con Scott Metcalfe, che con un fortunoso tiro-cross ha beffato l'incolpevole Mason Springthorpe. A questo punto i Vics' si sono riversati in avanti nel tentativo di ottenere la vittoria e mantenere viva la corsa al titolo. Questo desiderio è stato premiato all'87', quando il capitano Mike Clarke ha scagliato in porta di testa un perfetto corner dalla destra di Brian Summerskill.

Vics' M.O.M - Mike Roddy. Un'altra prestazione eccezionale per il centrocampista centrale, che si riscatta dopo i due rigori consecutivi falliti nei precedenti incontri. Ha interrotto sul nascere tutti gli attacchi avversari, garantendo comunque una elevata qualità nella circolazione di palla in mezzo al campo. Affidabile!

La voglia di lottare fino all'ultimo secondo e la caparbietà dei ragazzi di Adam Lakeland hanno fatto la differenza quest'oggi. Una vittoria fondamentale ed una prestazione esaltante arrivata davanti al proprio pubblico che tiene vive le speranze di promozione diretta. Ora guai ad abbassare la guardia, bisogna continuare a lottare con tenacia e determinazione, perchè nel calcio nulla è impossibile.

Nel prossimo match i Vics' saranno impegnati nella semifinale della Cheshire F.A Senior Cup in trasferta contro lo Stockport County dell'ex manager Jim Gannon. La partità si disputerà all'Edgeley Park di Stockport martedì 8 Marzo, il calcio d'inizio è fissato per le 20:45 ore italiane.

Match Report: Spennymoor Town 2-0 Northwich Victoria

Arriva un'altra sconfitta in campionato e questa volta le conseguenze sono pesanti. Il passo falso compiuto contro lo Spennymoor Town incrementa il divario con la capolista Warrington Town a 13 lunghezze, con tre turni da recuperare. Colmare questo gap è ormai impossibile, a meno di un tracollo improvviso degli Yellows, quindi per i Vics' si apriranno con tutta probabilità le porte dei play-off. I goal per i Moors sono arrivati con Craig Gott al termine del primo tempo e Liam Henderson al 58', dopo che Mike Roddy aveva sbagliato un penalty concesso per fallo di Anderson su Richie Bennett in area di rigore. Si tratta del secondo rigore consecutivo sbagliato da Roddy, dopo quello fallito sabato scorso contro il l'Harrogate RA.

Nulla ancora è perduto, la promozione è ancora alla nostra portata, ma dobbiamo recuperare la fiducia nei nostri mezzi. Non possiamo mollare proprio adesso e buttare per aria tutti i sacrifici fatti in questa meravigliosa stagione. Abbiamo fiducia che i nostri ragazzi, guidati dal manager Adam Lakeland  e dal suo staff sapranno reagire prontamente a questa sconfitta.
